The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to continue its work on Forward Focus. A community summit will be held on Saturday, October 25th, from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. at the Cuscowilla Nature and Retreat Center (210 SE 134 Ave, Micanopy, FL 32667). The session is open to all residents, businesses, and local leaders who register, providing an opportunity to share insights and ideas through a more in-depth discussion about the future of eastern Alachua County.

The Forward Focus Summit will focus on a range of issues, including:

• Post-secondary Education & Workforce Development
• Health & Well-being
• Early Childhood
• Quality of life

During the October 25th meeting, county staff will provide a Year 1 presentation outlining the accomplishments of the Forward Focus project to date, recap the project’s goals and timeline, and engage attendees in meaningful discussions on actionable strategies and community driven solutions. Attendees will have an opportunity to provide valuable feedback which will guide the next phases of the Forward Focus project in developing a comprehensive strategy plan for the project. A free catered BBQ lunch with vegan and vegetarian options will be available at the close of the summit.

*Parents are encouraged to participate in the Forward Focus Summit. Childcare services for parents of children 4-12 will be available. Childcare services will be limited to 25 children maximum to ensure quality care, attention, and safety. While parents are fully participating in the conversation, children will engage in fun interactive games and activities!
