Forward Focus

Forward Focus: Eastern Alachua County is a comprehensive, three-year initiative dedicated to understanding and addressing the most pressing needs of residents in eastern Alachua County. The project began with community listening sessions to gather input directly from residents and shape a responsive and impactful plan that identifies the region’s most pressing challenges.

Throughout this initiative, Alachua County and its residents will collaborate to enhance the quality of life and expand economic opportunities by focusing on key areas, including affordable housing, job creation, healthcare access, and environmental sustainability.

In its first year, the county has already hosted several community listening sessions, partnered with local organizations, and conducted in-depth research to identify five priority areas:

• Economic Development
• Community Engagement
• Health & Safety
• Transportation
• Youth Support

By combining community insight with data-driven planning, Forward Focus seeks to build a stronger and more resilient eastern Alachua County.
