Transportation Capital Improvement Program

Alachua County is paving the way to building a stronger, more connected community through strategic investments in our transportation infrastructure. In 2023, through the Wild Spaces Public Places surtax, property taxes, gas taxes and grants, the County Commission has assembled over a quarter of billion dollars for its 10-year Transportation Capital Improvement Program (TCIP).

While road improvements are the major focus of the TCIP, the plan also includes sidewalks, traffic signals, multi-use paths, and other critical infrastructure. These projects are key to ensuring long-term safety, mobility, and enhancing the quality of life for all residents, while also promoting economic development. These challenges -- many decades in the making -- are being tackled head-on through strategic planning, interdepartmental collaboration, and the steadfast commitment of the Alachua County Commission.
