WinterFest | Saturday, December 6, 2025
Bring the family and make some memories at this FREE event! Avondale turns into a winter wonderland with a visit from Santa, activities and entertainment, the premier of the holiday light show, annual tree lighting, food, and sweet treats.
Avondazzle Holiday Light Display - December 7, 2025 - January 1, 2026
Enjoy the dazzling lights this holiday season! The light display will be up throughout the season, with a show playing every 30 minutes on our City Christmas Tree. Bring a blanket or chair, your own treats, and your family and friends to enjoy this nightly show in front of City Hall.
Avondazzle Dash 1k, 5k, & 10k | Saturday, December 20, 2025
Bring your holiday cheer and favorite winter costume to this new 1k, 5k & 10k run through the holiday lights at Avondale’s Civic Center. Embrace the festive spirit with a fun and active holiday tradition before dashing inside for the holidays.
Tres Rios Nature Festival | Saturday, Feb. 28 & Sunday, March 1, 2026
Nature lovers, rejoice! This festival showcases the plants, animals, sustainability, and ecological relationships of our local nature area. Between guided bird tours, beautiful eco-crafts, and endless discoveries to be made about Southwest wildlife, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Arizona's beautiful spring season.
Hoot 'N' Hustle 5k | Saturday, March 28, 2026
The City of Avondale and Agua Fria High School are teaming up to bring you a fun and family-friendly 5k run through the heart of Old Town Avondale. Registration required. $35 for Adults, $25 for 18 and under.
Eggstravaganza | April 2 & 3, 2026
Eggstravaganza hops back into town for two events at two neighborhood parks! Guests can enjoy a family-exclusive egg hunt with our recreation staff setting up an area just for you and your little ones! The bunny and the chick will be available for pictures after your hunt.
NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Families will line up to hunt together as a group in a pre-determined zone. Arrive anytime between the event hours and get ready to have an egg-cellent time!

Join us for a celebration of Day of the Child (Dia de los Ninos) and the Week of the Young Child as Friendship Park turns in to a kid's paradise! This FREE event promises some high-flying fun and learning for the entire family. Have fun with various activities, crafts, food trucks, entertainment, and learn about different types of organizations and services with lots of exhibitors!
KidFest is an event recognized by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and AzAEYC celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. This event is hosted during the Nationally recognized Week of the Young Child™, a celebratory effort to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

Celebrate our community's rich Mexican culture with this FREE nighttime festival in Old Town Avondale! Authentic cuisine, traditional live music & dance, art & culture, and plenty of fun activities for the younger ones will keep your family immersed in the lights, sound and smells of an authentic Cinco de Mayo experience. Participate in kermes en la biblioteca featuring family-friendly carnival games and loteria throughout the event at Sam Garcia Library.

Light Up the Sky Independence Day Celebration| Saturday, July 4, 2026
Ignite your Independence Day and come out to Light Up the Sky Celebration. This FREE event includes fun with friends and family, a variety of food trucks, exhibitors, games in the Kid Zone, and live music before being dazzled by the West Valley’s largest spectacular fireworks display.
Blank Canvas Summer Showcase Art Expo | Thursday, August 13, 2026
Young artists, it’s your time to shine! Participants will be provided with a FREE canvas to use to create an original work of art! There is no theme or prompt limiting your creativity, so let your imagination run wild! Awards are given by age categories: 5 – 8, 9 – 12, and 13 – 17. Pre-registration is required.
