ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT

These are the public hearings before the Planning Commission and the City Council to review and solicit public input on application PL-25-0291, a request to amend the following Sections of Chapter 28 - City of Avondale Zoning Ordinance:

• Article 1 Administration and Procedures: Section 28-6 Site plan and design review
• Article 5 Special Districts; Overlays: Section 28-91 The BLVD

The city-initiated amendments will allow for continued refinement of the Zoning Ordinance to reflect changes in state law related to administrative approvals, provide for cross-references, allow for clerical corrections, and address the overall accuracy and usability of the Zoning Ordinance. The proposed zoning ordinance text amendments respond to House Bill 2447, passed by the Arizona Legislature and effective from and after December 31, 2025, which authorizes administrative personnel to review and approve site plans and development plans without a public hearing. PURSUANT TO ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES SECTIONS 9-462.04 et seq., NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission and City Council will be holding separate public hearings at the dates and times set forth below, in the place specified below, at which times and place all interested persons will have an opportunity to appear and be heard in relation to the following:
