
Each season, the Avondale Aquatic Center will seek reliable, dedicated, hard-working individuals to become part of our team. Come be a part of the best.
We offer a variety of positions within the Aquatics division. Positions range from seasonal to year-round part-time and applicants must be at least 15 years old. During the “peak” season (May through August), employees may have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week. In the “off-peak” season (September through April) hours may vary from 5 to 20 hours per week, depending on availability and events.

Who can become a lifeguard?
Anyone 15 years of age or older may apply. From teens to retirees, being a lifeguard is the best seasonal job.

Junior Lifeguard
The Jr. Lifeguard program helps youth build a foundation of knowledge, attitude, and skills that are needed to be a responsible volunteer and future lifeguards. Participants learn leadership, rescue response, drowning prevention, professionalism, and volunteerism skills. Jr. Lifeguard volunteers assist the lifeguard staff with programs like learn-to-swim lessons, special events, meets, and public swimming.
