Agua Fria Trail I-10 Underpass Fencing

"Avondale is enhancing safety along the multi-use path near the Agua Fria River by installing wrought iron fencing under the I-10 crossing. This project aims to protect trail users while preserving the beauty and accessibility of our community’s recreational spaces."

Introduction

The City of Avondale is committed to enhancing safety along our community’s recreational paths. To address safety concerns near the I-10 multi-use path crossing east of the Agua Fria River, wrought iron fencing will be installed along the embankment. This improvement, completed as part of our long-term partnership with ADOT, will discourage climbing on the levee and access to the I-10 underside, ensuring a safer experience for all who use the path.

Construction is planned to take place from August 10 through August 24, weather permitting. During this time, the multi-use path will be temporarily closed just south of the I-10 crossing.

Community feedback is a critical element of this initiative, and input from residents will continue to shape decisions about the design and function of our public spaces.
