How will I know when my street is scheduled?

Affected households will receive a door notice at least 48 hours before work begins. The City also shares upcoming projects on social media, through press releases, and with affected homeowners associations (HOAs). Residents and businesses may also receive mailed notices about upcoming work in their area.

Will bulk trash, regular trash, or recycling service be affected?

City trash and recycling services will not be affected. Please place bulk trash items at the curb by 5:00 a.m. on Monday of your scheduled collection week. For regular trash and recycling, place containers at the curb by 5:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

How long will my road be closed on the scheduled work day?

Crack seal - Roads will remain open with temporary lane restrictions. All Other Treatments - The length of the road closure will depend on several factors, including the type of pavement treatment and the overall project schedule. To avoid damage to your vehicle or the newly treated surface, wait until all barricades and traffic control devices have been removed before driving on the roadway.

Am I allowed to park on the street?

On-street parking is not allowed while work is underway. “No Parking” signs will be posted before work begins. Vehicles left on the street will be relocated.

Can I get out of my garage/driveway?

Crack Seal - This treatment requires temporary lane restrictions; however, streets will remain open. Access to your driveway will be maintained, but you may need to wait up to 30 minutes after treatment before driving over the sealed area to allow it to dry. All Other Treatments - You will not be able to access your driveway while work is in progress or immediately following treatment. If you will need to use your vehicle during the day, please move it by 5:00 a.m., or by the time indicated on your door hanger, to a location outside the scheduled work zone. The door hanger you receive will include a color-coded map showing the project schedule and work areas to help you determine where you may park during construction. Do not drive through barricades or traffic cones, as they are in place for the safety of workers and residents.

What happens if work does not take place or is delayed?

Work may be postponed due to weather, material shortages, or other unforeseen circumstances. If work is not completed on the scheduled date, affected residents will receive an updated notice with the new project schedule.

Historic Avondale

Western Avenue Mill and Overlay

July 2 - July 16, 2026

Subdivisions

Work Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday (No weekend work).
Traffic Impact: There will be no road closures. This is a moving operation where crews will only work on one half of the street at a time. Residents will maintain full access to come and go throughout the day.

Crystal Gardens Subdivision

July 15th – July 16th, 2026

Corte Sierra Subdivision

July 17th – July 23, 2026

Main Roadway / Arterials

Work Hours: 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Overnight)
Traffic Impact: Expect lane restrictions. A shadow truck will be utilized to protect crews while they are working. Please plan for possible short delays if you travel these routes during work hours. Signage will be posted prior to the start of construction.
