Climate Action Framework Update

Project Overview

The Climate Action Framework is a roadmap to support a just and equitable transition to community-wide carbon neutrality by 2040 and to build the City’s resilience to the impacts of climate change.

Because climate solutions and community needs are always evolving, the Climate Action Framework is meant to be updated regularly. The first update is happening now, and we want your voice to be part of it!

What's New in this Update

The Climate Action Framework is designed to grow and evolve with our community. This update builds on the progress made since 2022 and reflects new opportunities, challenges, and community priorities.

With this update, we are:

  • Updating strategies and actions based on the latest climate science, policies, and technologies.
  • Tracking progress and building on what is working from the first four years of the City’s climate priority.
  • Adding new targets to better track progress, especially for actions where greenhouse gas reductions are harder to measure.
  • Implementing strategies to increase adaptation and resilience in response to our already changing climate.
