Find Vancouver

Learn about the City's plans to revamp wayfinding systems downtown.

The City is working to improve how people get to and around downtown Vancouver. This includes how we use wayfinding tools, such as signs, maps, or mobile applications.

In the coming months, the project team will explore new ways to welcome, inform, and guide people who travel to downtown Vancouver. The project will accomplish this by making it easier for people to:

  • Navigate streets
  • Explore new areas
  • Access transportation options

Existing wayfinding tools in downtown Vancouver are outdated and contribute to congestion. They also make it hard for visitors and locals to choose options other than driving.

To address these issues, the City will develop a new wayfinding plan, in partnership with Vancouver's Downtown Association, Visit Vancouver, and local consultants sparks+sullivan. The plan will outline phased improvements that will occur over the next several years.

A group of pedestrians walk across Columbia street near Esther Short Park. The Salmon Run Bell Tower is visible behind the pedestrians, surrounded by tall trees and street signs. People of various ages walk together, casting long shadows on the crosswalk.
