Pearson Field Master Plan

The City of Vancouver is planning for the future of Pearson Field. In cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the City is developing an Airport Master Plan to address the airport’s needs for the next 20 years.

The updated plan will ensure that Pearson Field remains a safe and efficient airport that is economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable.

About the plan

An Airport Master Plan (AMP) serves as the long-term blueprint for an airport’s future development. It provides a comprehensive vision for the next 20 years by:

Evaluating existing conditions
Forecasting future aviation needs
Identifying improvements that will support safe, efficient, and sustainable airport operations

The master plan will establish a practical implementation strategy, identify potential funding opportunities, and evaluate development alternatives based on technical, economic, and environmental considerations. It also provides a framework for ongoing planning while ensuring the airport continues to meet local, state, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements.
