Jaggy Road Park Playground
Jaggy Road Neighborhood Park (4500 NE 72nd Ave.) is getting a new playground! This 3.4-acre park serves the Van Mall and Walnut Grove neighborhoods in north-central Vancouver.
Construction notice
The playground at Jaggy Road Park will be closed for construction August - October 2026. Other areas of the park will stay open during construction.
- Please avoid construction areas and use caution around construction equipment
- Construction activity is allowed Monday-Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- The contractor is briefed on working and driving safely in the neighborhood
This project includes a number of park improvements:
- Remove the existing playground, benches and picnic tables next to the playground. Remove a section of asphalt paving.
- Install new playground equipment with play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12.
- Install new picnic tables, benches, trash cans, and concrete paving.
- Reseed lawn areas and fix irrigation components disturbed during construction.
Project overview
Installed in 1996, the play equipment at Jaggy Road Neighborhood Park is in poor condition. It does not meet current ADA standards and will become a safety concern if it is not replaced. In 2026, Vancouver Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services will replace the play equipment to better serve the surrounding neighborhoods.
The budget for this project is focused on replacing the play equipment in the existing playground location. The project may include adding a few additional amenities like benches, picnic tables, bike racks and trash cans.
