Forest Grove Park

6000 Forest Grove Drive

Welcome to the Forest Grove Park Project Page! The City of Bettendorf's Parks & Recreation Department is starting the process to further expand and develop this large park over the coming years and this page will keep you updated as we GROW Forest Grove Park!

Forest Grove Park (6000 Forest Grove Drive) features two park shelters, a playground, a half basketball court, pickleball and tennis courts, and a rough-graded "Great Lawn." In total, there's 100 acres of parkland, but less than 10% of it is currently being utilized, which is why the City of Bettendorf is looking to grow Forest Grove into a true destination for the Quad Cities - residents and visitors alike! Growing Forest Grove Park could make it one of Bettendorf's crown jewels of public infrastructure that will enhance quality of life, support tourism and economic development, and create a unique "sense of place" that residents will be proud of.

In April and May 2026, Bettendorf Parks & Recreation - along with consultants at Shive-Hattery - held a Community Input Event and encouraged residents and visitors to take a survey about what park features interest them. The survey closed on Sunday, May 10 and 520 people responded. To see the presentation given to City Council about the survey and concept plans, view the video below of the Committee of the Whole Meeting on May 18, 2026. A copy of the survey results is also available below.

This page will serve as the most up-to-date way to get information on the project, see results of surveys and other community engagement opportunities. For a timeline of the project, see below. If you have any questions/concerns during this process, feel free to contact John Byrnes, Parks & Recreation Director at jbyrnes@bettendorf.org or (563) 344-4122.

The Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department has a simple mission - “To provide accessible, diverse, and inclusive experiences that enhance the quality of life and create a sense of place and community for all”. Our goal is to work everyday to give you, the residents of Bettendorf, the best experience possible while we enhance quality of life offerings in our community.
