Community Input Event Results

From all of us in Bettendorf Parks & Recreation, thank you for coming out and engaging with us at Friendship Park at our Community Input Event on August 14! We had 169 people vote on the upgrades they want to see and it led to some great conversation. The next step is for us to take the top ideas (shown here) and solicit quotes for the playgrounds to take to City Council in the coming month. Once we have selected the contractors, we will work with them to schedule the replacement of the playground in either late fall 2025 or early spring 2026.

We also want to thank you for all of your great ideas for Friendship Park as a whole! Right now, the priority is updating the playground to be a modern attraction for the neighborhood. However, we will also be budgeting money to do some of the heavily requested ideas that came out of the Community Input Event. Those ideas will be budgeted for the coming years as we complete this playground project.

Again, we can’t thank you enough for making your voice heard, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all when the upgrades are complete!
