Forest Grove Park

About

Welcome to the Forest Grove Park Project Page! The City of Bettendorf's Parks & Recreation Department is starting the process to further expand and develop this large park over the coming years and this page will keep you updated as we GROW Forest Grove Park!

Did you know Forest Grove Park (6000 Forest Grove Drive) is nearly 100 acres of parkland, but less than 10% of it is currently being utilized? Take a look at the image below from the 2013 Master Plan. 13 years ago, a consultant created this conceptual image for Forest Grove Park. Since then, two park shelters have been added as well as a playground, half basketball court, pickleball and tennis courts, and a rough graded "Great Lawn."

As you can see, there is still a lot of opportunity to develop Forest Grove Park into a true destination for the Quad Cities - residents and visitors alike! Growing Forest Grove Park could make it one of Bettendorf's crown jewels of public infrastructure that will enhance quality of life, support tourism and economic development, and create a unique "sense of place" that residents will be proud of.

This page will serve as the most up-to-date way to get information on the project, see results of surveys and other community engagement opportunities, and view the Bettendorf City Council's conversations on Forest Grove Park (see video below starting at 9:00 from the January 20, 2026 Committee of the Whole Meeting). For a timeline of the project, see below. If you have any questions/concerns during this process, feel free to contact John Byrnes, Parks & Recreation Director at jbyrnes@bettendorf.org or (563) 344-4122.

The Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department has a simple mission - “To provide accessible, diverse, and inclusive experiences that enhance the quality of life and create a sense of place and community for all”. Our goal is to work everyday to give you, the residents of Bettendorf, the best experience possible while we enhance quality of life offerings in our community.
