Asphalt Repair and Slurry Work on Avenue of Flags

We anticipate the slurry sealing of the streets along the entirety of Avenue of Flags between September 9 and September 11. This will necessitate the closure of portions of the street for periods of time, which can vary depending on the ambient temperature and the curing process of the slurry. A portion of the street will be worked on each day, with portions not being worked on remaining open for use.

With this work, there may be periods when individual businesses may have access to their sites obstructed while the slurry seal is applied and curing. This can lead to impatience and frustration, resulting in some pedestrians or drivers walking or driving on the slurry sealed section before it has cured. Damage to clothing, vehicles, driveways, and carpeting, as well as to the portion of the street traversed, is frequently the result. Please be patient and avoid moving through areas which are blocked.

We appreciate everyone's patience. This is a maintenance project which occurs about every 5 years and is necessary to keep the street from degrading.
