• BBQ Bonanza will be held on this Saturday, July 25. The event will run from 11am to 2pm at River View Park. Free lunch for those with their postcard, which was delivered to your mailbox shortly after July 10.
• City Council Meeting Schedule Change – Beginning in August, regular City Council meetings will be held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 6:00 pm
• A Movies in the Park event to support the work of Solvang Cinema Arts (SCA) will be held on Friday, August 28, 6:00 pm at Riverview Park. SCA is a non-profit organization working to bring a movie theater back to the Valley. A Food truck will be on-site for this free event.
• 2026 Municipal Election – Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Candidates interested in running for Mayor or City Council Member (Districts 1 or 4) may file nomination papers July 13 through August 7, 2026.
• Sunday, July 26 from 12-3 pm, the City will host an Open House at Oak Park to review potential inclusive playgrounds to replace the existing equipment. We are hoping to have a few Vendors available and catalogs. Please join us to commemorate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, 1990.
