
City Council Election Filing Period has begun
This November, Buellton residents will elect a Mayor and two City Council Members. In 2022, the City moved to District Elections and now, every two-years, residents will elect a Mayor and two City Council Members. This November, residents will elect Council Members from Districts 1 and 4 for four-year terms. Please note that only residents located in Districts 1 and 4 can vote for candidates in those two respective districts. The Mayor seat is at-large and all residents will vote for the Mayor, which is a two-year term.

New City Council regular meeting nights
At the July 9, 2026, meeting, the City Council voted to change the regular City Council meeting nights. Currently meeting on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month (with a few exceptions, including this month, which will have no meeting on the 4th Thursday), the Council change those days to the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. The next regular City Council meeting will be held on August 10. The 6:00pm start time of the meetings was not changed.
