NOTICE OF PREPARATION OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT AND SCOPING MEETING FOR THE CITY OF BUELLTON GENERAL PLAN UPDATE

Notice of Preparation:
Notice is hereby given that the City of Buellton will be the Lead Agency and prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the City’s 2050 General Plan Update. Key environmental issues that the EIR will address include: Aesthetics, Agricultural Resources, Air Quality, Biological Resources, Cultural Resources, Energy, Geology and Soils, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Hazards and Hazardous Materials, Hydrology and Water Quality, Land Use and Planning, Mineral Resources, Noise, Population and Housing, Public Services, Recreation, Transportation, Utilities and Service Systems, and Wildfire.

Notice of Scoping Meeting:
The City will conduct a public scoping meeting on Wednesday May 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in person and via Zoom (see more information below) for the purpose of soliciting verbal and written comments from interested parties as to the appropriate scope and content of the environmental information covered in the EIR. The scoping meeting will include a brief presentation of the General Plan Update and environmental issues to be addressed in the EIR and will provide attendees with an opportunity to provide input on the scope of the EIR. All interested parties are welcome to attend.

Please submit comments on or before 5:00 p.m. on May 24, 2026.
