Public Safety Power Shutoffs possible this weekend

PG&E announces possible Public Safety Power Shutoffs in Santa Barbara County

PG&E has announced the potential for Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) in Santa Barbara County. Currently, these areas only affect the more rural areas of the county, with areas both north and south of Buellton to be potentially affected. However, there is an area within the City limits which is identified for this event. This is at the north end of McMurray Road, east of Highway 101.

Currently, the anticipated time for the shutoff is expected to run between 1:30pm on Saturday, June 21 until 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 22. These are estimated times only, and may be adjusted by PG&E without warning.

Please note that other areas of the City may be affected by a PSPS if PG&E determines it necessary to do so. PSPS events occur in an effort to avoid wildfire ignition due to downed power lines caused by high heat and high winds.

Updates can be found by checking the map on PG&E's website at https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outage-tools/outage-map/. Additional information can be found at www.ReadySBC.org. NOTE: The City's website is NOT a primary source of information for this event. Please use one of the links above for information.
