• The SYV Aquatics Foundation will hold a Polar Bear Plunge event on Saturday, February 7. Starting at 8:00 am, this free event invites community members to take a chilly dip in the SYV High School pool, warm up with some coffee, hot cocoa, and donuts, and hear a big announcement regarding the future SYV Community Aquatics Complex. Taking the plunge is not necessary to attend the event.
• Story poles have been erected for the Cottage Medical Building project at the former movie theater site at 515 McMurray Road. A Planning Commission Public Hearing for the project is scheduled for February 19th. Plans and other application materials can be viewed HERE
• The Willemsen Green (Hundred Hills School Site) Future Land Use Survey is up and running. The survey has received about 200 responses from the public to date. The Survey is open until February 4th. The survey can be found HERE
• The new quarterly calendar flier with Buellton Recreation trips and events has been published. The link to the calendar is HERE.
• Auditions for the play “Annie” will be January 24th (for kids) and 25th (for adults). This play will be performed in April at the Solvang TheaterFest, and is a project of the Buellton Arts and Culture Program. For more information CLICK HERE
• A call for artists for the latest Community Banner Art Project (a project of the Arts and Culture Program) has been released. Interested artists should submit entries to www.Buellton.Art by April 19, 2026.
• Donations can be made to the City’s Arts and Culture Program, the 1000 Trees Initiative, and other City programs. Donations to City programs using this form are tax deductible. A Public Donation Form is now available online. It can be accessed on the City Website's Finance Tab under Documents, or directly HERE
