• As we enter into Fall, please remember to rake and dispose of fallen leaves and debris into green waste bins. Do not blow them into the street or into the storm drain inlets. Residents are allowed unlimited green waste bins as part of our agreement with Marborg. While the City handles street sweeping twice a month and perform annual storm drain inlet cleaning annually prior to rain season which has recently been completed, we are not equipped to handle additional loads. Let’s all do our parts to keep our City clean and limit any impact of the upcoming rainy season.
• Annual Road Maintenance Project will be starting Monday October 5th with localized repair and replacement of pavement in various parts of the City. Specific slurry seal timing in this year’s neighborhood will be noticed prior to work but is anticipated to occur towards the end of October. Slurry seal schedule has not yet been finalized or approved by the City.
• Planning Department staff has received input from both the Planning Commission and City Council regarding conceptual Avenue of Flags Median 3 plans. Staff anticipates bringing back a refined concept that addresses as much of the feedback received as possible.
• Revised plans for the SYV Children’s Museum have been submitted to the Planning Department for review. The plans have been routed to appropriate departments for any additional comments or requirements. Once all comments are addressed and plans are satisfactory, the Public Hearing for the project will be scheduled with the Planning Commission.
• All Fall Recreation Programs are now posted on the website, and flyers have been distributed to local schools. Programs running this month include an Intermediate Adult Pickleball League, Woodworking 101, Jewelry Making Class, and Homeschooling Workshop #1: Pasta Making and Homeschool Harvest Party.
