Highway 246/McMurray Road Construction Update

RDZ, the City's contractor, will be working primarily during the evenings this week. Work hours will be 9 pm – 6 am. Initial demolition of improvements were started last night, with grading this morning (Tuesday). Road base and compaction work will resume Tuesday night and compaction test Wednesday morning. Assuming that compaction tests are passed, concrete forms and other prep will occur Wednesday night and pouring concrete will take place Thursday night. Highway 246 west bound lane will be closed during the evening hours only. McMurray Road will have the modified closure/lane configuration 24/7 until early- to mid-next week. This time frame is necessary to allow the new concrete time to cure properly to avoid cracking.
