Traffic Update – Highway 101 Ramp Closures Shift August 12

Construction on the US 101 pavement rehabilitation project through Buellton is moving into its next stage.
Beginning Wednesday, August 12, ramp closures will shift as crews reconstruct additional highway ramps.

CLOSING August 12 through early October 2026:

US 101 Northbound On-Ramp at State Route 246
US 101 Northbound Off-Ramp at McMurry Rd. (Avenue of Flags)
US 101 Southbound Off-Ramp at State Route 246
US 101 Southbound On-Ramp at Avenue of Flags (Damassa Road)

REOPENING August 12:

Northbound McMurry Rd. (Avenue of Flags) On-Ramp
Northbound and southbound Santa Rosa Road On- and Off-Ramps

Detour routes will direct motorists between State Route 246 and the McMurry Road/Avenue of Flags/Damassa Road interchange. Motorists should follow posted detour signs and allow additional travel time.

Current lane reductions on US 101 will remain in effect. Motorists should anticipate travel delays, especially during peak commute periods.
