Thumbelina/Ballard Canyon Neighborhoods Road Work

An error in the signage announcing the construction project has led to some understandable concerns regarding the limitations of driving on the streets in Thumbelina and Ballard Canyon neighborhoods.

The roadwork scheduled for this week is simple crack sealing work. This does require residents to refrain from parking in the streets until crack sealing has been completed for the entire width of the street but does not preclude driving on the streets. The crack seal compound can be driven on shortly after it has been placed in the cracks of the asphalt, so delays should be minimal and should only occur if the sealing equipment is located in front of a home’s driveway at the time someone is attempting to leave or enter the driveway. If this is the case, the delay should be no more than about 5 minutes before the equipment has cleared the area and the driveway can be accessed.

The equipment will need to access all paved areas of the street, so parking on the street should be avoided on the days noted on the signs.
