Bullhead City Animal Resource Center (BARC)
About
Bullhead City is excited to announce plans for a new, expanded animal resource center that will offer a wider range of services and amenities to improve animal care and support the community. The new resource center is the Old Mohave Valley Daily News Building and is over 27,000 square feet. It will be a major step forward in providing better care for animals and supporting local pet adoption efforts.
New Features and Improvements:
Expanded Capacity: The new resource center will have more space to house animals, allowing for better accommodations and care for more pets in need.
Ongoing Low-Cost Shot Clinic: The traveling veterinary team from Tender Loving Care Veterinary Services & Supplies LLC will continue offering affordable vaccinations and basic pet healthcare services on a monthly basis at the new facility. For clinic dates, times, pricing, and other service locations, visit www.TLCVetServices.com or call (480) 699-9950.
Dog Wash: The new facility will provide a 24/7 self-service dog wash where pet owners can wash their dogs in a clean, safe, and convenient environment. Customers will be able to pay for individual washes or purchase a monthly subscription and wash their dogs at their convenience.
Merchandise Store: An on-site store will be present, offering affordable, essential pet supplies. This convenient shop will be a helpful stop for new adopters before they head home with their pets and will also serve the broader community by supporting both new and existing pet owners in practicing responsible pet care.
Education, Training & Events: As a hub for pets and pet owners, the BARC facility will host a variety of educational workshops, training sessions, and pet-themed events designed to engage and inform the community. Offerings will include dog behavior classes, pet handling safety education for children, and a range of other programs aimed at promoting responsible pet ownership and strengthening the human-animal bond.
Cremation Services: The new facility will provide the community with compassionate and respectful options for handling a pet’s remains. Services will include private, semi-private, and communal cremation, offering pet owners a range of choices to honor their companions with dignity.
Increased Adoption Services: With a larger, more functional facility, the resource center will be continuing to offer health examinations, spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and other critical care to all adopted animals.
On-Site Veterinary Clinic: The addition of a dedicated veterinarian will allow for quicker access to medical care, providing medical services to the Bullhead City community. This will ensure that the community's needs are prioritized, offering essential care for pet owners in the area. The new facility veterinarian will also provide emergency medical care for stray and unwanted animals housed at the new facility.
About the Project: The new resource center, located at 2270 Trane Road, is a no-kill facility with an outstanding record of adoption and animal care. It has become a cornerstone of the Bullhead City community, providing safe refuge and support for pets in need. The new recourse center will help alleviate capacity issues and provide a larger space for ongoing animal care and adoption efforts. The Bullhead City Animal Resource Center is actively seeking donations to help fund the new facility and support its mission of helping abandoned, mistreated, and injured animals find loving homes.
Ways to Get Involved: The shelter continues to welcome donations, including food, grooming products, and animal bedding, to support its day-to-day operations. In addition, volunteers and part-time employees are encouraged to apply. Community involvement plays a crucial role in the success of the shelter’s programs, and the shelter is grateful for the continued support from local businesses and residents.
