Animal Services and Adoption Center Temporarily Relocating to OJJS TEC Building!

New Animal Shelter Building Initiative

In 2015, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury started a program to address the growing number of animals at Calcasieu Parish Animal Services. They enlisted expert Martha Seng from Jackson and Ryan Architects, who transferred the project to Jeff Kudla Architects. Together, a facility was designed to promote animal health, improve veterinary care, and encourage adoptions while ensuring safety and durability.

New Facilities Will Include:

  • Three kennels (4,400 sq. ft. each)
  • Feline building (2,800 sq. ft.)
  • Intake building (13,500 sq. ft.)
  • Enforcement building (4,436 sq. ft.)
  • Renovated administration and adoption center

Architectural and Construction Details:

  • Architect: Jeff Kudla Architects
  • General Contractor: Keiland Construction
  • Construction Duration: 650 calendar days (expected completion: 4th Quarter 2026)
