Cove Point Park Playground Project

Cove Point Park has long been a beloved gathering place for families, friends and neighbors. Now, after years of fun, the playground is ready for a fresh start. As we begin the early stages of planning, we’re looking for ideas from our community to help design a playground that reflects what you truly want and need. Whether you're a parent, caregiver, child, teen or simply someone who loves the outdoors, this is your chance to help reimagine the future of Cove Point Park Playground.

Why We're Rebuilding

The current playground was built nearly 18 years ago and is well past its lifecycle. Results from the 2022 Land Preservation, Parks, and Recreation Plan showed that residents would like CCPR to invest in areas south of Prince Frederick with a leading goal of improving and enhancing facilities and amenities. As the largest playground in this part of the county, it serves tens of thousands of visitors each year and remains an important community resource.

We’re planning a new, updated space that’s:

  • Safe and accessible for all ages and abilities
  • Fun and imaginative
  • Inclusive and welcoming for everyone in our community

Take the Survey

We’ve put together a quick survey to gather your feedback on what you'd love to see in the new Cove Point Park playground, from favorite play features to accessibility ideas and more.

As part of the survey, you’ll review two draft playground concepts created to spark ideas and discussion. These are not final designs. They are flexible, and elements from each can be mixed and matched to create the best possible playground for our community.

Your input will directly help shape the future playground, so let your voice be heard!

Thank You!

Together, we can create a better, brighter, and more playful future for Cove Point Park. Thank you for being a part of this exciting journey!
