Project Update and Next Steps

Dear Bryans Road and Indian Head Communities,

You are receiving this notification because you requested updates on the Bryans Road/Indian Head Collaborative Community Improvement Project. 
 
We realize it has been a long time since our last update, and we apologize for the delay in updating you.  We have been trucking away behind the scenes to try to put some pieces together in forming a project plan that includes what YOU said you wanted for your community!
 
Since our last update, we have:

• Analyzed feedback from the second community survey that asked community members to share their thoughts on proposed project ideas to improve Bryans Road and Indian Head. A summary of feedback received is available on the Engage project page.
• Continued to meet as an internal workgroup of Charles County Government employees representing:
  • Media Services
  • Department of Planning & Growth Management
  • Department of Recreation Parks & Tourism
  • Department of Public Works
  • Department of Economic Development
• Discussed and coordinated with the Charles County Public Library, Potomac Branch
• Met with leaders, stakeholders, and interested residents from Bryans Road and Indian Head
• Met with a national non-profit to discuss similar models in the area
• Made site visits to Bryans Road and Indian Head to see the community “in action”

 
And here’s where we are so far, and what is happening next!

• We have drafted a project plan that the staff feels excited and proud about, using the feedback from the survey shared with residents earlier this year.
• We have met with the Acting County Administrator to seek feedback on where we are headed
• And-we are very excited to be presenting findings and asking for support in next steps to the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, July 21, 2026!
