We Want Your Feedback: Livingston Road (MD 227 South)
We are currently seeking community input on the proposed sidewalk improvements located along the east side of Livingston Road (MD 227) between Billingsley Road and the south entrance to Bryan's Road Building Supply.
A key decision for this project is the location of the existing VanGO bus stop. We are considering two options:
- Keep the bus stop in its current location at the intersection of Livingston and Billingsley Roads
- Relocate the bus stop on Livingston Road to the north side of Skyline Place
Participate in a brief survey to share your feedback, which will help determine the preferred bus stop location and influence the final design of the sidewalk extension.
These improvements are designed to make it safer and easier for pedestrians to access the VanGO bus stop on Livingston Road while improving overall sidewalk connectivity in the area.

Livingston Road (MD 227 South) (Feedback Requested)
Livingston Road
This sidewalk improvement is proposed on the east side of Livingston Road (MD 227) along the Bryan's Road Mobile Home Estates property. This project will also address safety and accessibility concerns for pedestrians using the existing VanGO stop at the intersection of Livingston and Billingsley Roads.
Participate in a brief survey to share your feedback, which will help determine the preferred bus stop location and influence the final design of the sidewalk extension.
Option 1: Keep the Existing VanGO Stop
Keep the VanGO stop at its current location. This option includes:
- A new sidewalk from the south entrance of Bryan's Road Building Supply to the existing VanGO pull-off and boarding area at Livingston Road and Billingsley Road.
- An expanded boarding area at the existing VanGo stop.
- New pedestrian crossings at the south entrance of Bryan's Road Building Supply and at the Skyline Place entrance.
Option 2: Relocate the VanGO Stop
Relocate the existing VanGO stop to the north side of Skyline Place. This option includes:
- A new sidewalk from the south entrance of Bryan's Road Building Supply to a new VanGO pull-off and boarding area on the north side of Skyline Place.
Indian Head Highway (MD 210)
A sidewalk is proposed along the north side of Indian Head Highway starting at the KFC site and running west along the McDonalds site to the Marshall Hall Road (MD 227 North) intersection.
Matthews Road (East and West)
East:
- Proposed improvements include a sidewalk on the north side of Matthews Road along the Food Lion site, a pedestrian crossing to the south side of Matthews Road, and a sidewalk and pedestrian crossing to connect to the existing KFC sidewalk along Canberry Place.
West:
- A sidewalk is proposed on the north side of Matthews Road from the intersection with Marshall Hall Road to the existing sidewalk east of Icehouse Place.
- A sidewalk is proposed on the south side of Matthews Road from the intersection with Marshall Hall Road to Blackfoot Street. A pedestrian crossing will be provided across Blackfoot Street.
- Sidewalk improvements are not currently proposed along the future South Hampton Square project, as the developer is required to provide sidewalks as part of permit approval for the project.
Marshall Hall Road (MD 227 North)
- A sidewalk is proposed on the east side of Marshall Hall Road from the intersection with Indian Head Highway and running past the entrance to McDonald’s and ending at the entrance to the Country Place Liquor site. The sidewalk will pick up at the north end of the parking area and bear right and end to allow for a pedestrian crossing to connect to the proposed sidewalk on the north side of Matthews Road. The sidewalk will continue along the east side of Marshall Hall Road and end across from the existing sidewalk in front of Chelsea Manor. A striped pedestrian crossing will be provided to the west side of Marshall Hall Road to connect to the existing handicap accessible ramp at that location.
- Pedestrian crossings will be provided from all sidewalks at the Matthews Road (East & West)/Marshall Hall Road intersection.
- The sidewalks will connect residential areas north and west of Marshall Hall Road to nearby business and commercial areas.
South Hampton Drive
- The proposed South Hampton Drive sidewalk will provide a connection from the existing sidewalk along Indian Head Highway (MD 210) and run along the east side of South Hampton Drive to a pedestrian crossing from Charlene Court over to the tot lot and then run along the west side of South Hampton Drive to a pedestrian crossing at Bryan’s View Way and ending at the existing sidewalk.
- The sidewalk improvements will connect residential areas from the South Hampton neighborhood to Indian Head Highway for access to nearby business and commercial areas.
