Citizens Academy
The Charles County Government Citizens Academy program is designed to help promote a better understanding of Charles County Government. The program includes 11 classes, with each class focusing on the operations of one aspect/division of County Government.
As a culminating project, each cohort is tasked with using knowledge gained from the program to examine an issue that exists in the county that impacts County Government operations, and providing suggestions for novel approaches and solutions to this problem. The outcomes and suggestions from this project are shared with Charles County Government leadership at the conclusion of the program.
Graduates of the Citizens Academy program become Citizens Academy Ambassadors. Ambassadors are encouraged to continue their engagement by participating in County Boards and Commissions, and supporting future Citizens Academy cohorts.
