Post Office Road Sewer Capacity Improvements
To better support existing sewage flow levels and lower the need for maintenance, Charles County Government is working on a project that will improve sewer capacity on Post Office Road in Waldorf.
This project will involve replacing 3,700 liner feet of gravity sewer pipe, abandoning the 8" sewer pipe and installing a 12” gravity sewer pipe.
Timeline:
The project requires larger easements to accommodate the larger sewer line. Acquisition of easements will begin in December 2025 and will be completed by April 2026.
Construction for this project will kickoff in early 2027 and will last approximately 270 business days, Monday – Friday.
Project Impacts:
- Footpath/trail will be temporarily closed
- The playground will be temporarily moved
- Increased noise in the area during daytime construction
- Areas will be closed off for safety
