Budget Consultation 2025-26 - Closing Soon!

The budget consultation is closing on Monday 27th January and we would value your input. So far 51 local residents have replied to the consultation, to gain a better understanding of local views we need more residents to complete the survey.

At the moment over 38% of respondents support funding of river and environment projects, and over 20% support improvements to play areas and activities and events for young people.

There is also support for provision of public toilets, improving facilities in the Abbey Grounds and improving accessible play spaces.

We need to invest in our historic assets and want to fund new facilities for the             community. In addition to grants and other sources of funding, we aim to raise £1 million through council tax over the next four years, which could mean increasing the council tax year on year by circa 5%, do you support this?

Also, in order to gauge public priorities we have asked a question about participatory budgeting, that if a community fund was made available how would residents allocate it.
