Why are we seeking your views?
We know from our recent

Local Plan consultation that the continued regeneration of Hemel Hempstead remains a key priority for our community, and we're keen to take this forward by exploring new opportunities.

As a key part of this, we are looking to identify several new ‘Opportunity Areas’ across the town. One of those has been identified in the south of Hemel Hempstead, known locally as Two Waters.

We are spending more time exploring the Two Waters Opportunity Area, and to help us we are keen to hear from you on what it is that you consider to be important for this area.

Feedback is so important to be sure the area meets the current and future needs of the community. Feedback from local residents, businesses, and visitors is considered vital to shape the emerging guidance for the area.

The Proptech Engagement Fund
In 2021, we were awarded funding by the Government to explore and trial new ways of engaging with local communities. We are using this consultation for the Two Waters Opportunity Area to showcase some of these new forms of engagement. This includes using new technologies such as a 3D model of the study area, and to trial an innovative ‘voice-to-text’ approach to respond to the survey.

We have engaged before
This is not the first time we have asked for your views on this area. We have had locals providing feedback over many years, highlighting a number of key issues for us to consider. These are not forgotten matters, and the purpose of the current engagement is to look at addressing many of these alongside new opportunities.
What are we seeking views on?
We have reviewed all of the existing evidence to date and feel that the following areas are important to engage on right now.

We want you to tell us more about what makes this area special to you. We intend to use this feedback to prepare new guidance which will apply to the area. We are keen to learn more about your opinions on:

What you currently like and dislike about the area What special features make the area unique, including: - Local landmarks - Key features - Important views - What you think the Council should focus on to make the area a better place.

How do I provide feedback?
You can provide feedback by visiting the ‘have your say’ tile on the home page. Tap or click to drop a pin on a place or feature on the map that interests you, then leave your feedback on the sidebar.
