This area is safe in many ways. But we know we could be doing more to make it safe for everyone as we understand the damaging impact crime has on our residents and communities.

What do you mean by sexual harassment?

We follow the definition that sexual harassment is unwelcome sexual conduct (UN Women, 2018). It can take different forms including rape, other aggressive touching, taking and circulating sexual photographs, as well as verbal sexual conduct. (Source)

What do you mean by VAWG?

Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is defined by the United Nations as “Any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life".

We understand that VAWG is an umbrella term for many different forms of abuse, including domestic abuse, sexual abuse and stalking, among others.
