Algin Sutton

The Algin Sutton Neighborhood Engagement Area (NEA) is located in the Vermont Vista area of Los Angeles, and defined by the following borders: Manchester Avenue to the North, 91st Street to the South, Figueroa Street to the East, and Menlo Avenue to the West. The Algin Sutton NEA includes three local public schools, a variety of fast food establishments, gas stations, and a many "mom & pop" businesses. The CSP Algin Sutton Team works collaboratively with Community Based Organizations such as Los Angeles Community Resource Coalition (LACRC), Children's Institute (CII), and Community Coalition to strengthen public safety in the park, enhance existing programming, and establish "Safe Passages" to and from local schools and businesses. These actions support the local economy and introduce a spectrum of resources to bolster the health and wellness of all community members.

Fun Fact: Algin Sutton was a standout basketball player at Cal Poly in the 1960s and was inducted into the Cal Poly Hall of Fame in 2003.
