Upcoming Parks & Recreation Plan Engagement Opportunities
The CSRD invites residents to shape the future of Parks and Recreation.
Public engagement
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is inviting residents to help shape the future of parks, trails, and recreation services through the preparation of a Parks and Recreation Plan.
The plan will guide long-term planning, decision-making, and investment in parks and recreation services across Electoral Areas A, C, D, E, F, and G. While Electoral Area B is not included in the plan, residents from Electoral Area B are encouraged to share their input on regional parks and recreation services.
The Plan aims to:
• Understand current and future park and recreation needs
• Identify gaps in services, facilities, and access
• Make sure everyone has access to parks and recreation opportunities
• Strengthen partnerships with community organizations and local governments
• Help prioritize where investments and improvements should be made.
“Parks and recreation are at the heart of healthy, vibrant communities,” said Derek Sutherland, General Manager, Community and Protective Services. “We encourage residents to share their ideas and experiences so we can plan for spaces and services that reflect what matters most to our region now and into the future.”
Community input will play a central role in shaping the Plan. Over the coming weeks, the CSRD will host a variety of engagement opportunities, including open houses, pop-up events, and an online survey.
