Protected Species
A section of beach between Surfside (below Lover’s Lane) and Nobadeer is now closed to beach driving.
Unfledged shore nesting birds are present. These birds are Federally and State protected species. This area is typically used by anglers for beach driving from 6pm to 10pm.
The western part of this area may still be used by beach fishing vehicles in the regulated hours. See locally posted signs and the current closure map.
- The whole beach area remains open to pedestrians.
- Dogs must be leased.
- This closure does not apply to Emergency Vehicles.
