Project Update: LLWTP Sludge Improvement Project

We are pleased to provide a quick update on the ongoing Lake Lewisville Water Treatment Plant (LLWTP) Sludge Improvement Project.

In this phase, we are set to replace aging sludge valves with** automated actuators**, which will enhance the efficiency of the sludge removal process. Additionally, the sedimentation basins will undergo much-needed rehabilitation, including new coatings and leak testing to ensure their long-term performance and reliability.

After several months of preparation and securing parts, we’re excited to announce that construction is scheduled to begin in the third week of October 2024. This marks a critical step forward in maintaining the high standards of water treatment that support Denton’s community.
