We’re excited to share that yesterday City Council approved the Construction Manager at Risk contract with Steele & Freeman Inc. for a $17.5 million project.
The first phase of the project includes a 9,000‑square‑foot expansion of our facility, featuring:
- A new lobby
- Dedicated areas for cat adoption, isolation, and quarantine
- A specialized space for exotic animals
- An expanded dog adoption area with indoor and outdoor runs
- Five new play yards
- A separate entrance for surrenders and reclaims
Construction will begin immediately and will not impact operations at this time.
The new addition is estimated for completion May of 2027.
