Pecan Creek Water Reclamation Plant Expansion
Thank you for visiting our site! We're thrilled to share some exciting news about the future of wastewater treatment at the Pecan Creek Water Reclamation Plant (PCWRP). As our city continues to grow, we're committed to ensuring our infrastructure keeps pace.
Currently treating 14-15 million gallons per day (MGD), PCWRP is nearing 75% of its permitted capacity, triggering the need for an expansion. We're excited to announce a major upgrade that will not only increase capacity but also enhance the quality and efficiency of our wastewater treatment process.
Key Highlights of the Expansion:
- A 5 MGD Treatment Train: Utilizing advanced membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology, this new system will boost our treatment capacity and efficiency.
- New 26 MGD Solids Handling and UV Disinfection Facilities: These upgrades will ensure top-quality treatment, producing cleaner, safer water.
- Integrated Piping and Electrical/SCADA Improvements: Seamless integration of new and existing systems will enhance overall plant performance.
MBR technology, a first for PCWRP, delivers effluent nearly free of suspended solids and significantly reduces bacterial and viral content. This means cleaner water that can be safely discharged into sensitive streams or reclaimed for uses like irrigation, supporting our environmental sustainability goals.
This innovative project ensures high-quality discharge, supports environmental sustainability, and meets the needs of our expanding community. With cutting-edge technology and thoughtful planning, the PCWRP expansion is set to transform wastewater treatment, making it smarter, safer, and more efficient than ever. Get ready for a future where our wastewater treatment capabilities not only meet but exceed expectations!
Thank you for your interest in our project. Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting journey to enhance our community's infrastructure!
