Robson Ranch Roadway Expansion

Denton County and the City of Denton are partnering through an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement to upgrade Robson Ranch Road from Sagehawk Drive to I‑35W. Denton County is providing the completed design and construction funding, and the City of Denton will manage construction for the project.

Planned improvements include improving Robson Ranch Road from Sagehawk Drive to I‑35W widening the roadway from four to five lanes creating new left turn lanes, along with dedicated right turn lanes for entrances along both sides of Robson Ranch Road.

A Notice to Proceed of August 10, 2026, was issued for this project.

Intersection of I-35W and Robson Ranch Road

The City of Denton is finalizing an agreement with Denton County for improvements at the I-35W and Robson Ranch intersection. Once the agreement is executed, the intersection of Robson Ranch and I-35W will receive temporary improvements to help reduce some of the congestion ahead of future permanent upgrades planned by TxDOT. The roadway will be widened up to the bridge columns, restriped from two lanes to three, protective crash walls will be added around the columns, and a traffic signal will be installed to better manage traffic flow through the intersection.
