City Wide Annual Pavement Management Program
Project Overview
The City of Dunedin implements an annual paving program meticulously crafted to address street conditions, assessed using advanced software. Through this system, streets undergo thorough evaluation based on their overall condition rating, initially examined by the software and subsequently reviewed by city staff.
Project Budget
The comprehensive project encompasses milling and paving streets in need of repair, along with the replacement of curbs and gutters. Allocating an annual budget of approximately $1 million for paving, sourced from the County Gas Tax fund and Penny fund, as well as $200 thousand for curb and gutter replacements from the Stormwater Utility Fund, the city is committed to enhancing its infrastructure.
Project Elements
Residents residing in areas undergoing street milling and paving can anticipate a temporary but impactful transformation within their neighborhood. The process involves the meticulous removal of old asphalt through milling, succeeded by the precise placement and compaction of new asphalt. While this operation progresses, some noise, vibrations, and temporary restrictions in access and traffic flow may occur. Additionally, residents may experience dust and a faint asphalt odor. Adhering to local guidelines and notices is essential to navigate these temporary inconveniences seamlessly.
Objective
The ultimate outcome will be a freshly paved street, contributing significantly to improved road quality and enhancing the overall appeal of the neighborhood.
Concrete Curb/Gutter Work Clarification
This part of the project is a crucial endeavor aimed at enhancing the infrastructure within our community. This project specifically revolves around the installation and repair of curbs and gutters in targeted locations within our neighborhood. It's important to emphasize that this initiative does not encompass the entirety of the subdivision's curb and gutter system; instead, it focuses on identified areas requiring immediate attention.
