FDOT Skinner Boulevard Improvement Project

FDOT Skinner Boulevard Improvement Project

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) constructed a Complete Streets project to enhance safety and improve traffic on SR 580/Skinner Boulevard from Main Street/Bass Boulevard to Broadway. The project included reducing travel lanes, two roundabouts, and a multipurpose path connecting to the Pinellas Trail to make travel safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists, and to stimulate economic development north of Downtown. Comprehensive engineering and forecasting were conducted to evaluate the current and future traffic trips on this segment of Skinner Blvd. For current construction information, including lane/road closures and detours go to: https://www.fdottampabay.com/project/978/447535-1-52-01
