Second Reading of Ordinance 24-15 Amending Chapter 78

Our Stormwater Rate Study was completed and presented to our City Commission this past March. The rate study recommended a 3-year stormwater utility rate increase to ensure that current revenues from the stormwater rates are adequate to support our current and future stormwater program. This program includes:
•replacing and repairing our aging stormwater infrastructure,
•continuous stormwater maintenance efforts
•resiliency efforts and capital projects to help mitigate flooding and improve environmental water quality

Based on the recommendations, the City of Dunedin recently approved an ordinance which increases resident stormwater utility rates over three years starting on October 1st.

• October 1st 2024 -$16.37
• October 1st 2025 - $20.12
• October 1st 2026 - $23.87

For commercial properties, the City uses a formula based on impervious surface to determine the Stormwater rate. Stormwater credits are applicable for both residential and commercial properties.
