Force Main #4 - Bayshore Blvd
The road’s southbound lane will be closed and shifted to the middle lane. Also, the entire road will be closed for 2 or 3 days on two separate occasions to work in the middle of the street. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The City of Dunedin is preparing to replace the underground force main alongside the west side of Bayshore Blvd. The force main transports residential wastewater to the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant and is in poor condition. The City has contracted an Underground Utilities Contractor to start construction alongside Bayshore Blvd by late March or early April 2024. The construction will take place in two distinct phases so the City wants to inform the local residents of what to expect.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
The first phase will be the digging and laying of the new pipe. The southbound lane of Bayshore Blvd will be shifted to the middle turning lane using construction barriers. All residence are to keep access to their homes but may have to turn carefully around barriers. The force main will be installed in the Right-of-Way. The sidewalks and driveways will be disturbed but will be re-installed and restored to their previous conditions, i.e. concrete driveways will be re-poured, paver driveways will re-done, etc. If you are a resident with disabilities and require accommodations, please contact City Representatives below.
The second phase of pipe and manhole work will be done in the middle of Bayshore Blvd and the entire road will be closed off to general traffic for 1-2 days. Only local traffic will be permitted through. This road closure for 1-2 days will happen twice. First time for evaluation & cleaning and a second time for pipe & manhole work. It is recommended to enter through the northern section of Bayshore Blvd & San Salvador Dr. Road Closure plans are attached.
