Community Input: Future Teen Programming in East Greenwich
The East Greenwich Community Services Department is proud to embark on an important initiative aimed at enhancing support for our teen community. As we work to expand and refine programs for local youth, we are committed to understanding what matters most to East Greenwich teens and their families. Your voice will play a vital role in helping us design responsive and engaging opportunities that reflect the unique interests, priorities, and challenges of today’s teens. By gathering feedback through surveys and direct conversations, we aim to ensure that every perspective informs how we serve and uplift our community’s youngest residents.
This initiative also marks an exciting new chapter for the operation of the East Greenwich Teen Center Program, a cherished resource that will now be overseen by the Community Services Department. The Teen Center Program was founded by the late Bob Houghtaling, who dedicated over 30 years to serving our community as the Town's Director of Prevention and Substance Abuse. Under his leadership, the Teen Center Program was a welcoming drop-in space where teens could gather, connect, and belong. Honoring Bob’s visionary contributions to our community, we are dedicated to preserving the program’s welcoming ethos while evolving its programming to meet the current needs of East Greenwich teens. With your input, we look forward to shaping a vibrant future for this cornerstone of youth engagement.
