Community Services Master Plan Study

In order to fiscally plan for the future of community services, parks and recreation in East Greenwich, the Town needs to understand how residents utilize community services, parks and recreation amenities, if existing facilities and programs are meeting the needs of residents, and what the projected future trends in community services, parks and recreation are.

Building on the Town’s strong commitment to provide community services, high quality parks, and recreation facilities and programs for residents of all ages, The Town of East Greenwich has initiated the development of a Comprehensive Community Services and Parks Master Plan. Under the direction of the Community Services Director, BL Companies, Horsley Witten Group, and The Sports Facilities Advisory are working together to outline existing status, needs, and a future vision for indoor/outdoor recreation and open space protection while ensuring the continued provision of accessible recreation for a growing and changing population.

In order to fiscally plan for the future of community services, parks and recreation in East Greenwich, the Town needs to understand how residents utilize community services, parks and recreation amenities, if existing facilities and programs are meeting the needs of residents, and what the projected future trends in community services, parks and recreation are. The project will include: data collection and analysis (inventory of existing recreational programs and facilities, demographic and trends analyses, gap analysis); public engagement (public workshops, online community survey, stakeholder interviews and focus groups); and development of a Comprehensive Community Services & Parks Master Plan.

The Community Services and Parks Master Plan will enable the Town to proactively plan for and meet the needs of residents while also enhancing their quality of life.
