Charter Oak Road and Tupman Lane Alignment Project

We would like to announce a significant and collaborative effort between the Kenton County School Board and the City of Edgewood to address parking concerns and improve safety through the alignment of Tupman Lane and Charter Oak Road. The integration of crosswalks, traffic congestion solutions, turn lanes, and adjustments to Dudley Road aims to enhance overall safety and reduce congestion in the area.

The fact that all necessary properties have been acquired by the School Board, and the project has received approval from the Kentucky Board of Education, along with completed environmental assessments, marks important milestones in the planning process. In October 2023 the City and School Board met to begin planning this project. The involvement of both City and School Board engineers in developing a preliminary route and alignment is a positive step towards realizing the project's goals.

Given the complexity of the project, it's understandable that completion is anticipated for the summer of 2025 to late 2025. The extended timeline is likely necessary to ensure careful planning, design, and execution of the improvements.

We will be scheduling public meetings during the design phases, as it allows community members to provide input, ask questions, and stay informed about the progress. This transparent approach fosters community engagement and helps address any concerns or suggestions from the public.

As the project moves forward, ongoing communication and collaboration between the City, School Board, and the community will be key to its success. Keeping stakeholders informed and involved will contribute to a smoother implementation process and ensure that the final result meets the needs and expectations of the community.
