About Churchfields Meadow
Located next to Churchfields recreation ground in Weybridge, the space was gifted to the council by Cala Homes in 2013, along with Section 106 (planning gain) funding for its maintenance. Following consultation with residents, it was designated as a dog-free wildflower meadow.
The Council has now been approached and asked to consider making the area open to dogs, rather than the current approach in which dogs are banned from this space.
We are keen to find a balance between the biodiversity benefits, community access and use and protecting the site and the nature that thrives there. We want to hear from residents and meadow visitors about how can achieve this balance.
Your feedback will help us understand how the meadow is being used, what concerns or feedback you may have, and how we can manage dog access in a way that respects both nature and residents’ needs.
